    GREAT video! I have had the newer, "universal" version of this stove for many years, but I stumbled over the original version at a thrift store yesterday. For 3 bucks I couldn't resist. When I attached it to my fuel bottle, I noticed it tipping, and I thought something is wrong with it. But apparently it's normal, and your solution with the rock under the bottle is elegant and simple. Thanks! One thing I do differently is pumping the bottle before attaching it to the stove. Makes setup way easier.

    Great video. I keep a small squirt bottle of isopropyl alcohol to use in the priming pan. Alcohol doesn’t soot up the underside of your stove, and is safer if spilled.

    Why not just triangulate from highest frequency attained at three stations/points? Ive done this hundreds of times with wolves, grizzlies, lynx and cougars.

      It is designed to be compact and portable. A longer line takes up more space. With the heat shield in place, there is more than sufficient fuel line to operate.

      down and dirty formula width * depth average for surface in vertical to get volume length (be as accurate as possible, and time object 3x and average) divide length by time and multiply the area of the width/depth previously done multiply fudge factor .48 for small creek and .87 for rivers (there may be other fudge factors not sure where to tell you to look) this gives you cubic (unit of measure), from there it is a matter of breaking into a useable volume/gpm/m^/etc. hope this helps, write me if i can assist more

    • @dysfunctional_vet
      @dysfunctional_vet 3 года назад

      @@anilsharma-ev2my the system used gravity flow to operate the ram. that pressure is both the pull of gravity on the mass of water, a mass of 1, and the pressure of atmospheric pressure on the surface of the water that is entering the pipe to flow. at sea level that is 14.6 psi per square inch, or about 2200 pounds per square foot. these are ball park numbers. to siphon, you are only getting atmospheric pressure on the water exactly as you do in the drive line to the pump. i'm not sure adding more water will do anything to improve performance, but it might well degrade it water in a 1/2 inch line flows about .5 to .6 gallons per minute, larger pipes more more water and need larger one way valves to accommodate the increase volume

      @@dysfunctional_vet you calculation for one crorre liter of water displacement by atmospheric pressure so how much volume required for it and how much strength required for it and much space required for it and how much technology required for it so we got unlimited supply of energy per day for a limited battery bank 😃😃😃😃

    • @dysfunctional_vet
      @dysfunctional_vet 3 года назад

      Anil, a liter of water flowing through a pipe requires a liter of space, in the ram pump, you have sort of a split amount that is dumped to the ground while the other half is pushed by the violence of he water hammer into the pressure vessel where the atmospheric pressure inside exerts pressure on that water and pumps it into a tank above the pump. if a ram cycles once every 1.5 to 2 seconds, it is in optimal timing. The water pushed up the pressure chamber will be forced into the pipe that takes it to where it will be stored or used. to know how large a water ram pump you can build, you have to know the flow in liters per minute or gallons per minute, and how much water is available to use. if your flow is low, you can't use a large ram pump as the water will be expended before it can be replaced. if you have 10 liters per minute flowing, you can't run a pump requiring 10 liters to run. you have to have more water flowing than is used. if this does not make sense, lets go all the way back to basic measure on your source and work through this so you will have all the water you can get
